Trikolonion Country

05/10/2016

There were four impressive masonry buildings of the 19th century. The main one had served at times as a Girls’ Boarding School, an Agricultural School, as well as a hotel. Country Club renovated the buildings, joined them together and created one of the most beautiful “family” hotels in Europe. 14 rooms, and four suites of refined character and excellent aesthetics reflected in every detail, give their own unique meaning to the word hospitality. Hospitality, which we, as the new hotel management since 25.01.2013, we aspire to provide our guests.

Following the Country Club tradition, Trikolonio couples elements of the local architecture with classical and modern references. The decoration is complemented with authentic lithographs and engravings by artists such as Tsarouhis, Fasianos, Mitaras, Moralis, Galtemis and Pantelias. The pictures at the living room space: “Stemnitsa by candlelight” and at the reception room: “the Olive Tree”, both are by Nalbantis. The hotel is adorned with engravings by Kamarinos. Public spaces have been lined with solid wood. The rooms have been decorated in three colour tones, while the suites carry unique ornamental characteristics.

Trikolonion Rooms
Light beams dance their way in your room as you open the interior window shutters. At night, the village lights, along with a handful of stars, slip through discretely to meet your desk lamp and shed their light on the few words you’re writing to those you wish were with you. There are 3 “groups” of rooms with variations in colours and details, characterized by such names as “Gaea” (olive green), “Fos” (shades of gold) and “Uranus” (sky blue). You can choose the room that best reflects your personality. Trikolonion Country offers 14 double rooms, 4 of which are connected.

Trikolonion – Suites
Authentic antiques, a fire place, traditional designs on the wooden ceiling, objects made of leather and handmade glass. And the most valuable of all, the majestic view of the fir trees at Menalon mountain. Trikolonion Country offers 2 suites featuring a living room and a fire place and 2 junior suites, each with a different character.

Trikolonion – Communal Spaces
If the lobby is the heart of every hotel, Trikolonion then is truly big hearted. Dazzling though it might be, its mission is to welcome friends and to create friendships. The hotel’s gym features a treadmill, a spinning bicycle and a multi-purpose gym equipment. At the Trikolonion you can also enjoy our sauna service upon request. Next to the gym is the game room. Here, you can enjoy your favorite board games and play chess or backgammon. Easily transformed into a meeting room, complete with state of the art audiovisual equipment, it can accommodate every need of a corporate meeting.

Trikolonion – Map and Route "

trikolonion

The route is 200 km long and about 2.5 to 3 hours. There are three options:
1. Through Megalopoli.
It’s a safe road (not affected by snow) and fairly easy but longer then the rest. Take the National Athens-Corinth highway. 11 kilometers after the Isthmus of Corinth, follow the highway left toward Tripoli. Reaching Tripoli, do not turn into the city but continue straight to Megalopoli (22 kilometers). Once there, follow the signs to “Andritsaina-Dimitsana”. Immediately after the main square of Megalopoli, turn right toward Karitaina and continue on a straight course until you leave the town. Follow the signs toward “Elliniko”. Passing Elliniko, continue in the direction of Stemnitsa. The hotel is located in the center of Stemnitsa on the right side of the road.
2. Through Vitina.
A beautiful route but during the winter the road is often closed due to heavy snow-fall. Again, take the National Highway toward Tripoli, but after the Artemision tunnel, immediately after the toll station, at the junction of Nestanis, take the country road 74 toward the villages of Kapsia, Levidi and Vitina. At the crossroads right after the village of Methidrio, 5 kilometers after Vitina, turn left and follow the signs to Elati, Libovisi, Chrisovitsi. After 15 kilometers on an asphalt road you will reach the Tripoli-Stemnitsa crossroads, (you will see a farmland with wooden houses) where you will turn right toward Stemnitsa (and Elliniko). After passing the crossroads continue for 10 kilometers, and at the first crossroads turn right to Stemnitsa, which you will reach after 3 km.
3. Through Vitina and Dimitsana.
A pleasurable route but you have to make sure that it’s open and that there is no fog. Up to Vitina, it’s the same route with the previous one. Continuing after Vitina you do not turn toward Elati but keep on until you reach the crossroads for the village of Karkalou, 15 km after Vitina, where you take a left following the signs for Dimitsana. You cross Dimitsana and keep on toward Stemnitsa which is the next village, about 8 km from Dimitsana.
